Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis) (2)

Snowdrop flowers are sweet-scented and contain a moderate supply of honey. The honey is deposited in the green grooves on the inner sides of the flower, where it is sheltered from rain.

Snowdrop flowers are pollinated by bees. If the flower is not visited by insects, it is self-pollinated. However, snowdrops spread mainly by division of the bulbs; seed production is extremely poor.
