Winter aconite bulbs are planted in the fall before the ground freezes. In Central Europe this will be in September or October. Soak the bulbs for one night before planting.
Choose a spot with good drainage. Winter aconites love shady places under deciduous trees or bushes. Dig holes about 8 to 10 cm deep. Drop a bulb into each hole and cover them with soil. Make sure the bulbs are positioned correctly: They look like mini onions with slightly pointed heads and wiry roots growing from the underside. Plant them with the pointed heads facing upwards.
Leave about 8 cm between bulbs. It is important to water them well after planting to help them settle in and take roots. Enjoy!
