Today’s photo was taken in Basel’s Rosental-Anlage. It is a time exposure and shows the light trails of some of the amusement rides located there. In the upper left quarter of the photo, you see circular light trails of the thrill ride ‘Maxximum 2’. Also visible is a haunted castle, a swing around and a merry-go-round (from left to right).
Riders of Maxximum 2 rotate at the end of a long arm by 360° with a speed of up of 120 kilometers per hour and 4-6 x gravity. Their highest point is 52 meters above ground. The platform with 10 seats [2×5] also rotates by 360° around a horizontal axis but with less speed.
