Vlieland – A Dutch Car-Free Island in the North Sea (51)

Most tourists visit Vlieland during the summer months between June and August. This also applies during school holidays, especially Dutch school holidays. The summer period is very popular due to good weather and many possible outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, and swimming.

Vlieland’s off-season (from the fall holidays to the spring holidays) is characterized by tranquility. During this time, most restaurants and shops are open on weekends, but not all of them during the week.
