Ladybird larvae, up to 8 mm long, are the juvenile stage of ladybugs. Resembling tiny, six-legged alligators, they are typically gray with striking orange, red, or white markings. Often referred to as nature’s ultimate pest controllers, they have voracious appetites. In the two weeks it takes to become fully grown, a single larva can consume 350 to 400 aphids.
